POLAND – Roger O. Holt Sr., 76, of Summit Spring Road, Poland died Thursday, March 6, at his home with his family by his side after a long illness.

He was born May 29, 1931, in Mechanic Falls, the son of Clyde Sr. and Leona Smith Holt. He attended Mechanic Falls schools. On June 12, 1952, he married Betty L. Hanscom.

He worked at Kamp Kohut for 39 years, starting as a bus driver and working his way up to caretaker. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his mother of Clover Manor in Auburn; his wife of Poland; three daughters, Jane Barnaby of Poland, Cindy Rowe and husband, Robert, of Poland and Diane Richards and husband, Bruce, of Mechanic Falls; two sons, Roger Jr. and William, both of Poland; a sister, Marceline Holt of Simi Valley, Calif.; a brother, Clyde Jr. of Oxford; eight grandchildren, Tracy and Sean Barnaby, Kyle Stetson, Brandi and Randal Rowe, Anna, Jessica and Brittany Richards; 10 great-grandchildren, Halie Barnaby-Shane, Nicholas Aube, Jordan Bowker, Amber Rowe, Taylor Pingree, Roger Rowe, Shawn and Linda Michaud, Trevor and Octavia Herrick.

He was predeceased by his father in 1944; great-granddaughter, baby Mykayla Herrick; brothers, Rexford Smith, Robert Holt, Kenneth Holt and Frederick Holt; and sisters, Dorothy Holman and Phyllis Williams.
