LEWISTON – A renowned Bible scholar will deliver a public lecture titled “Did Jesus Really Rise from the Dead?” at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bates College in the Carnegie Science Hall, Room 204.

Dr. Robert M. Price, an ex-Baptist evangelist turned skeptic of all religion, has written books on the article. He is being hosted by the Bates College chapter of the Secular Student Alliance. Contact [email protected] for more information.

Ward 5 meeting set Thursday

AUBURN – City officials will hold a Ward 5 neighborhood meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sherwood Heights Elementary School. The meeting is designed to give citizens an opportunity to address the mayor, their councilor and city staff about concerns and issues. Any citizen who is unaware of the Ward he or she resides in can locate it on the city’s Web site at www.auburnmaine.org (City Clerk/Voter Information section) or by contacting the city clerk’s office at 333-6600.

Special meeting

LISBON – The Town Council will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Town Office at 300 Lisbon St. to discuss the 2008-09 municipal budget. The public is invited to attend.
