School lunches

PARIS – The Oxford Hills School District lunch menus have been announced for this week.

Tuesday: Chicken quesadilla, Spanish rice, sliced peaches.

Wednesday: French toast with syrup, bacon, Maine potato rounds, orange.

Thursday: Breaded chicken patty on a bun, krinkle cut fries, pudding.

Friday: Sunfish, mashed potato, peas, Jell-O.

Babysitter training

BRIDGTON – The Bridgton Community Center will offer a six-hour American Red Cross babysitter’s training course on Friday, April 25. The class will begin at 9 a.m. Attendees will receive a certificate at the end of the six-hour class.

The basic course is geared toward 11- to 14-year-old youth, teaching them information on leadership, safe and responsible babysitting, basic care, think safety, safe play and basic first aid.

Fee will be $30, which covers the cost of the book that participants will be able to take home with them for reference.

Potluck supper

WATERFORD – The Wilkins Community House will hold a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 20. All are welcome. Those attending may bring a friend and should take a dish to share. Beverages and breads will be provided.

The Community House is located on Plummer Hill Road and community suppers are held each month October through May on the third Thursday.

The hosts this month will be Donna and Tony Butterall.

Pancake breakfast

CASCO – The Sunshine Club of Webbs Mills will hold its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, March 22. There will be buttermilk pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee at the Crescent Lake Community Hall, Route 11 in Webbs Mills. Charge for breakfast is $5.

Bridge winners

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met March 7 in the Fare Share Common, Main Street, when a four-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Barbara Beegel and John Bravo; second, Richard Webber and Richard Allen; third, Hazel Glazier and Marta Clements. Finishing first in Flight B were Suzanne Andrews and Carol Curran; second, Arlen Riis and Bob Clifford.

Meeting canceled

WEST PARIS – The meeting of the Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine scheduled for Sunday, March 19, has been canceled. The next meeting is set for Sunday, April 20.
