GREENE – Marilyn Matieu, 62, of Greene, passed away suddenly Sunday, March 9. She was born in Madawaska on Oct. 30, 1945, the daughter of Leon and Gertrude Michaud. She married Rosaire Mathieu at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn on Nov. 28, 1964.

She was a loving wife and mother who greatly enjoyed working in her beautiful gardens and decorating her home. She was an avid bargain-shopper who loved antiquing with her husband on the weekends. She also loved doing crossword puzzles and spending time on the coast in the summer. Nothing made her happier then spending time with her grandchildren and children. She especially loved sharing the holidays with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Rosaire Mathieu of Greene; daughter, Lori Bowen and her husband, Ricky,of Lewiston; daughter, Lisa Campbell and her husband, Peter, of Victoria, Australia; son, Kevin Mathieu and his wife, Kathleen, of Auburn; sister, Diane Berube of St. Augustine, Fla.; three brothers, Lionel Michaud of Vassalboro, Leo Michaud of Leeds, and George of Dayton. She is also survived by her three precious grandchildren: Kassandra and Mathieu Bowen of Lewiston, and Megan Struck of Victoria, Australia; as well as her faithful companion, Munchkin.
