Club Richelieu

AUBURN – The local chapter of Club Richelieu International will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Rolandeau’s Restaurant, 775 Washington St. President Daniel Isabel has invited all members to attend.

Society speaker

POLAND – The Poland Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Old Schoolhouse, 1229 Maine St., next to the Poland Town Office. Before the business meeting, Lucille Hodsdon of Minot will speak on “Old Schoolhouses in Minot.” Refreshments will be served following the talk. The public is invited.

CWA Night reset

POLAND – CWA Night, which was postponed due to inclement weather, will be observed at the Excelsior Grange meeting on Saturday, March 15, at the hall, 446 Harris Hill Road.

Those wishing to participate in the whoopie pie making contest should have their entry at the hall by 7 p.m. for judging before the business meeting beginning at 7:30. A drawing for the handmade rug will held during the meeting. All grange members and anyone interested in joining the grange are invited.

Ashlar Lodge

AUBURN – Ashlar Lodge 105, AF and AM, will have its monthly communication on Monday, March 17, at the Auburn Masonic Temple, 1021 Turner St. The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. with refreshments to follow. All Masons are welcome. For more information, contact Steve Peterson at 777-1728.

Young at Heart

AUBURN – The Young at Heart Fellowship will meet Tuesday, March 18, at the Court Street Baptist Church. Members will attend the noon Lenten service at the church followed by the luncheon at 12:30 p.m.

The regular business meeting will follow the lunch. Members should bring an item for the door prize. The program will be on a trip to Japan with pictures by Lena Kanda. All senior citizens are welcome.

Seniors dinner

AUBURN – The New Auburn Seniors Club will host a noon ham dinner with all the fixings Wednesday, March 19, at the St. Louis Church basement hall on Third Street. The cost is $4 and it is for members only.

A meeting was held March 6 with President Virginia Levasseur presiding. March birthdays were noted and token gifts were given. Happy birthday was sung by all.

Pot of gold winners were Fern Delorme, Anita Dostie, Romeo LePage and Theresa Morin. The meeting adjourned and a light lunch was served. Bingo followed.

Open bingo will be Wednesdays, March 12 and 26, for seniors 60 and over. The next regular meeting will be held at noon Wednesday, April 2.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Muli-Purpose Center on March 10 were: first, Henry Lerette and Paul Mitnik; second, Rosemarie Goodwin and Paul Sherman; third, Roger Briggs and Roger Labbe; fourth, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; fifth, Cynthia Bonsey and Sue Kaluzynski.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for information about all bridge games.
