MEXICO – A Mass of Christian Burial for Katie Marie Scott was celebrated Monday at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Angelo LeVasseur was the celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server. Wayne Petrie was the organist, with soloist Tammy Schmersal-Burgess. Music selections were “In the Garden,” “I Can Only Imagine” and “You Raise Me Up.” Readings were done by aunts Lisa Scott and Kelly Rickert. A eulogy written by Katie’s parents was read by Gayle Johnson. Reflections of Katie’s life were written by and read by Mary Wilkins, her aunt Kathy Scott and Gayle Johnson. A poem was read by uncle David Rickert. Pallbearers were Clyde Wardwell Jr., Todd Wardwell, Elwin Scott, Jr., Kevin Scott, Tyler Scott and Scottie Rickert. Spring interment will be in St. John Cemetery. A reception followed in the parish hall. Relatives and friends may pay tribute to Katie at www.mem.com.
