FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – New England has re-signed free agent safety Ray Ventrone.
He played in two regular season games and two playoff games last season for the Patriots, and got his first special teams tackle in the Super Bowl.
Terms of the deal were not announced Tuesday.
The 24-year-old defensive back spent the 2005 season on the Patriots’ practice squad after being signed as an undrafted free agent. He was on injured reserve for 2006.
Ventrone was signed by the New York Jets in February 2007, and signed by the Patriots after being released by the Jets in September. He spent time on both the practice squad and the active roster for New England last season.
