LISBON FALLS – Lisbon Adult Education is accepting registration for classes beginning this month.

“Intro to Office” will start Monday, March 24, running from 6 to 8 p.m. The course will teach students the basics of Microsoft Office, including word processing, the use of spreadsheets and databases.

“Computers for Complete Beginners” will be offered beginning on March 24 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The class is intended for those who have no computer experience. Students will learn the basics.

An herbal workshop series will continue from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13. Topics will include “Herbal Teas and Tinctures,” “Using Herbs for Wellness and Longevity,” “Herbs for Women’s Health” and “Spring Tonics.”

On March 13, learn about the “Essentials of Creative Thinking,” using real-life situations. Also on March 13, an eight-week workshop on writing fiction will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m.

A one-evening course on effective communication will. be offered Tuesday, March 18. The primary focus will be on impediments to effective communication. Learn how to identify those problem areas and overcome them.

A series of quilting classes will begin on March 18. Participants will learn the techniques of quilting patterns. Samples of quilting projects may be viewed in the Adult Education office in Lisbon High School.

On Friday, April 4, an evening of hair braiding will be held at Hairs Too You in Lisbon Falls from 6 to 9 p.m. A May basket one-evening class will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 28.

Advocates for Children will offer a class titled “1,2,3,4 Parents.” Parents will learn methods of discipline that work effectively for young children from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1. On Saturday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to noon, Advocates for Children will offer a workshop, “KIDS FIRST,” designed to help parents address problems and promote reduction of negative effects of divorce.

General Education Development testing will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Accommodations are available for those with documented disabilities. A GED prep class meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
