LEWISTON – The Irish set dancing group, which meets at St. Patrick’s Church every Monday, has been invited to present a special St. Patrick’s Day program at Callahan Hall in the Lewiston Public Library on Monday, March 17.

The family-friendly event, which will feature live fiddle music as well as dancing, is open to the public free.

Dance instructor Jeannette Gross will kick off the event at 6:30 p.m. with a workshop in easy Celtic folk dances for youngsters age 5 and up, their parents or grandparents. At 7:15, the group will demonstrate a Irish square set, followed at 7:30 by instruction in beginner set dances for adults and teens. The evening will end at 9 p.m. with an old-fashioned Irish last waltz.

More information is available by calling Gross at 933-9761 or the library at 513-3050.
