The four World War II U.S. Army chaplains who sacrificed their lives so others could live was remembered by the Marine Corps League’s Central Maine Detachment at a meeting at the New Auburn American Legion Post 153. Taking part from left were Chaplain Paul Bernard, who read the documentary; Marine Travis Jackson, who read of the life of Lt. George L. Fox, Methodist; Adjutant John Robbins, life of Lt. Alexander D. Goode, Jewish: Junior Vice Commandant Armand Blais, Lt. John P. Washington, Catholic; and Public Relation Officer Edith Lemieux, Lt. Clark V. Poling, Dutch Reform. After each reading, a candle was lit for remembrance.
