PORTLAND – Estelle (Gagnon) Berube Lallier, 93, of Portland, and formerly of Lisbon and Florida, died Thursday, March 13, at Seaside Rehab and Healthcare Facility with family by her side.

She born in Newburyport, Mass., July 22, 1914, the daughter of Gedeon and Eva (Gosselin) Gagnon. She was educated in Lisbon schools and later at Bliss College. She married Ernest Berube in 1934, and resided in Lisbon, where they operated Ridgeway Dairy for many years.

She also worked at the Lisbon Bonified Mill and later at the Service Merchandise in Lewiston until her retirement. She married Ena Lallier in 1956, and stayed on the farm in Lisbon until 1970. She then resided with her sister Marguerite in Lisbon.

In her retirement years, she moved to Sebastian, Fla., where she and her sister Marguerite resided for many years, returning to Maine in 2000. She was a member of the former St. Anne’s Church in Lisbon, now Holy Trinity in Lisbon Falls.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Berube and his wife, Elizabeth, of Hudson, Fla.; two daughters, Helene Butterfield and her husband, William, of Arundel and Vivian Janosco and her husband, Gary, of Topsham; son-in-law, Richard LaRoche of Sun City West, Ariz.; her sister, Therese Baumer of Lewiston; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Ernest in November 1954, and Ena Lallier in August 1967; a daughter, Jeanne in October 2006; two sisters; and four brothers.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Seaside Rehab and Healthcare Facility for their wonderful care extended to Estelle.
