LEWISTON – Henry “The Navigator” Lewis Greenwald, born to Charles and Frances Greenwald in New York, N.Y., died this week at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. He was 86 years old.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He served as a navigator and captain in World War II and the Korean War. After his service in the military, he was employed as a CPA for the federal government traveling the country as an auditor for HUD. He retired to Arkansas, where he and his wife lived for the next 30 years, before moving to Maine in 2007.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dee; his three children; five grandchildren; and his brother, Gene. A memorial service in Arkansas will be held this spring. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
