LEWISTON – Two of this week’s playoff matches in Lewiston Department of Recreation coed ‘A’ division volleyball went to a decisive third game.

Both of those tight matches involved LAVA, which downed Allagash 25-20, 17-25, 26-24 to begin its postseason run. Peru +2 later edged LAVA, 17-25, 25-21 and 27-25.

Bio Processing swept Gridiron by scores of 25-19 and 26-24.



Match schedule for Thursday, March 20:

Allagash vs. GridIron, 6:30 p.m. (consolation bracket)

LAVA vs. Match 1 winner, 7:15 p.m.

Bio Processing versus Peru +2, 8 p.m.

B-2 division

Thursday night’s results from the Lewiston Rec coed volleyball B-2 division:

Homeowners Assistance/Fontaine Team d. Maher Builders, 2-1 (21-14, 15-21, 21-7)

Fast Breaks d. Deadline Busters, 2-1 (21-16, 17-21, 21-19).

Homeowners/Fontaine clinched the regular-season championship with a sparkling 53-7 record. Fast Breaks took runner-up honors at 39-21, followed by Maher (18-39) and Deadline Busters (7-50).

The championship match is Thursday, March 20, with Homeowners Assistance/Fontaine facing Fast Break in a best two-of-three competition.

B-1 division

Lewiston Department of Recreation B-1 Co-Ed Volleyball League has announced the following schedule revisions:

February 6 league games (snow cancellation) will be played on March 19.

February 13 league games (snow cancellation) will be played on March 26.

March 5 league games (snow/Camp Fair cancellation) will be played on April 2.

March 12 league games (Camp Fair make-up) will be played on April 9.

Playoffs will start April 16.
