Christie Bernier of Edward Little walked a personal best 7:53.62 in the one-mile racewalk to earn fourth place at the Nike Indoor Nationals on Saturday in Landover, Md.

Bernier was the lone Maine athlete to place at the high school competition, and the sophomore earned her second consecutive All-America award for her finish.

Bernier won the event last year with a slower time, but this year’s field was much stronger, with four racers, including Bernier, eclipsing last year’s winning time.
