LEWISTON – Harold A. Bourget, 74, of Curtis Street, Lewiston, joined his wife in Heaven, Friday evening, March 14, with his family by his side, after years of valiantly struggling with lung disease.

He was born in Lewiston on June 21, 1933, a son of the late Joseph and Viola (McDonald) Bourget.

Harold married Doris C. Jarvis on June 26, 1954. She predeceased him in 2000.

He proudly served his country for two years in the Army National Guard and then in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

As a civilian, he was well known in the Lewiston area as a talented cook, retiring from Bates College.

Harold was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, DAV, American Legion Post 22, Horizon 55 and Covenant 50.

His hobbies included photography and gardening.

He will be remembered as a wonderful resourceful man, a loving husband, a reliable supportive father and a devoted grandfather.

He leaves his two sons, Michael Bourget of Lewiston, and Daniel Bourget and his wife, Stephanie, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Dawnstar, Angel, Nicholas and Lucas; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Gabrielle and Drake; two sisters, Marie Bissonette of Mechanic Falls, and Thelma Alexander of Lewiston; and four brothers, Charles, Donald and Paul, all of Lewiston, and Douglas of Farmington.

He was predeceased by a sister, Alice Poulin; and a brother, Eugene.
