WATERVILLE – Sr. Yvette Bilodeau CSJ, 86, died Friday, March 14, at Mount St. Joseph in Waterville.
She was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Lewiston, the daughter of Alphonse and Gracia (Picard) Bilodeau. She received her education in Lewiston, in Springfield, Mass., and received her clinical pastoral certificate from Tewksbury Hospital in 1977.
Sister Yvette entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon, France, in 1938, and made her profession in 1940. She served at St. Joseph Convent, South Berwick; Sacred Heart Academy, Jackman; St. Ann’s Convent, Dexter; St. Joseph Convent, Auburn; and St. Joseph Christian Life Center, Winslow.
She also assisted senior citizens in the Augusta/Waterville area for several years. She was transferred to Mount St. Joseph in 2001.
Survivors include one brother, Raymond Bilodeau and sister-n-law Carmel Albert of Auburn; four sisters, Murielle Bilodeau and brother-in-law Maurice Fontaine of Lewiston, Gilberte Bilodeau and brother-in-law Lucien Baril of Lewiston, Jacqueline Bilodeau and brother-in-law Fernand Baril of Lewiston, Yolande Bilodeau and brother-in-law Wendell Harvey of Cocoa, Fla.; as well as many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Bilodeau and sister-in-law Simone Provencher, Raoul Bilodeau and sister-in-law Valdora Chouinard, Valmore Bilodeau and sister-in-law Simone Pepin; and two sisters, Armande Bilodeau and brother-in-law Ernest Belisle, and Juliette Bilodeau.
The Sisters of St. Joseph wish to express their gratitude to the nursing staff of Mount St. Joseph for the love, kindness and excellent care they gave to Sister Yvette these past seven years.
