Auburn – Armand A. Lizotte, 72, of Farwell Street, Lisbon, passed away on Saturday, March 15, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Lisbon on Oct. 12, 1935, a son to the late Armand and Rose (Poulin) Lizotte. He was educated in local schools. Armand married the love of his life and soul mate, Shirley Ridley, on Oct. 16, 1954, and together they raised their three children. She passed away on March 18.
He worked for 43 years at U.S. Gypsum Co., where he will always be remembered as a “legend” in his field of work. He retired as a foreman.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Church and was an avid bowler at the local bowling league in Lisbon Falls. Armand was a lifelong fisherman and hunter which he passed on to all his children and in some way each grandchild.
He enjoyed four-wheeling, camping and playing his favorite card game, Phase 10. He will be missed for his infectious laughter, his wonderful sense of humor, his enthusiasm for innovative cooking and his undying love of his family. All of which never wavered through his year long fight.
He leaves a son, John Lizotte and his wife, Pam, of Durham; two daughters, Sandra Lizotte-Rampey and her husband, Michael Rampey, of Georgia and Carrie Carville and her husband, Tim, of Lisbon Falls; six grandchildren, Joshua and Shane Lizotte, Stephanie St. Laurent and her husband Jesse, Heather Tingley, Nicholas and Phillip Carville; a great-grandchild, Eli St. Laurent; a sister, Irene Dube and husband, Maurice, of Greene; and a brother, Bill Gartley and his wife, Pam, of Litchfield; 10 brothers-in-law; and 13 sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Sherri Roop; and three brothers-in-law.
Armand’s family would like to send a very special thank-you to Dr. Austin and all the nurses and volunteer staff at The Hospice House, and his home care nurse, Lisa, for the exceptional care they gave to Armand and his family.
