The United States has had an impact on history like other great civilizations – the Chinese dynasties, the Roman Empire, Ottoman Empire, and Greece. The U.S. accomplished great things, such as establishing the first democracy during a period dominated by monarchies.
During the Great Depression and World War II, many countries suffered around the world. In America, people who survived those years (1929-1945) would become labeled “The Greatest Generation.”
The American people have done great things and have a good work ethic, but there is a growing problem with the part of the American population that has no work ethic and lacks family values.
I work three jobs throughout the year in education, retail and coaching. I don’t make a lot of money, but I work hard and live a normal life. Is it difficult keeping up with superinflation of daily expenses? Yes. But I refuse to ask for aid from the government.
I see a lot of hard-working and intelligent people, but I also see drug use, obsession with video games, and a culture of “getting something for nothing.”
I think people have to come to the realization that this nation is starting a decline of civilization. People take their freedom for granted.
Being civilized starts with the individual – working, voting, saying please and thank you, and being a good parent.
Someday, economic and government breakdown may happen.
It may seem like a bad dream at the time, but soon it will be a reality.
