LEWISTON – Dominic Palleschi Jr., 81, died Friday, March 14, at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was a resident of Wyman Hill Road in Rumford.
Born in Rumford on June 3, 1926, he was a son of the late Dominic and Wilhemena Palleschi Sr. He attended Rumford Schools and Coynes Electrical School. He served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class from 1944 to 1946, serving in the Armed Guard Centers in Brooklyn, N.Y. and San Francisco, Calif., during World War II. He worked in the electrical shop as an electrician for Boise Cascade until his retirement.
Dominic was a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Church. He was a member of Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion, Robert Shand Post 1641, VFW, Rumford Falls Aerie 1248 FOE, Gorizia Lodge 467 and Sons of Italy. He loved his family and the family gatherings. He enjoyed gardening, horseshoes, woodworking and bowling.
He was married in Rumford on Sept. 3, 1951, to Connie Sirois, who survives, of Rumford. Other survivors include three daughters, Cathy Palleschi of Gorham, Carol Palleschi of Lewiston and Mary Ellen Davis and her husband, Wayne, of Turner; two grandchildren, Katlyn and Colleen Davis of Turner; one sister, Theresa Pendergast of Connecticut.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Robert Palleschi; and two sisters, Caroline Dunkerton and Josephine Patenaude.
