NORWAY – At least two incumbent town officials will run for re-election this year.

Selectman Bill Damon and SAD 17 director Don Gouin said Friday that they will seek re-election.

“I do plan to run for the board. I’ve mixed emotions about it, but that’s where I’m at,” Gouin said, adding his age played some role in his initial hesitancy. He has served since 1987.

“If I serve one more term I’ll be 80 years old. That’s got to be some sort of landmark. But I do enjoy the board. It’s frustrating sometimes but very gratifying,” he said.

Selectman Les Flanders, who is also up for re-election, was unavailable for comment.

Nomination papers for the June 10 annual town election are available beginning Monday, Town Clerk Shirley Boyce said. Nomination papers must have a minimum of 25 signatures of registered voters and be submitted to the town clerk’s office by April 28.
