AUBURN – The Brain Injury Association of Maine will hold its 18th annual fundraising event, The Walk for Thought, on Saturday, March 22.

Money raised will help support programs and activities for survivors and family members and brain injury prevention programs for children.

The 3- to 4-mile walk will begin and end at Edward Little High School (a shorter route is available) and will take place in rain or snow, but in case of severe weather, the event will take place inside the high school.

Walker check-in begins at 8 a.m. with an official kickoff 8:50. A light breakfast will be available. When walkers return they will be greeted by the Red Carpet Crew Cheerers. Lunch donated by local businesses will be available.

Each year in Maine, more than 7,000 people sustain brain injuries, the leading cause of death and disability in children and young adults.
