AUBURN – Edwin F. Cotton Sr., 63, a resident of 15 Plummer St., Auburn, died Sunday, March 16, surrounded by his loving family at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
He was born in Lewiston, April 30, 1944, the son of Rose M. Cotton-Reinstadler and Lionel Drouin.
He attended Lewiston schools, and Leavitt High School in Turner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married his beloved wife and soul mate Sandra Reed on Aug. 4, 1962. He was employed as a driver salesman for Wonder Bread Hostess bakery until his disability. Both he and Sandy extensively traveled 47 states of the United States during their retirement. He loved old-time movies especially westerns and “The Waltons” TV show. He was also a member and loved socializing at the Pastime Club, 20M, and Le National Club.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Auburn; two sons, Edwin Cotton Jr., and his wife, Debbie, of Auburn and John Cotton and his wife, Laura, of Columbia; two daughters, Kelley Karkos of Auburn and Laurie Campbell of Oxford; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, Deanna, Michael, Jeremy, Matthew, Kyle and Tyler; Grampa’s pride and joy great-grandson Kolby; four aunts, Faye, Alice, Gertrude and Mary; his father-in-law, Herbert Larlee and his family; sisters-in-law, Dorrie and Linda and their families; and many cousins and friends, especially Lori and Sim and Frank Bretton and family.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his grandson, Kenneth; his mother-in-law, Roberta Larlee; father-in-law. John Reed; one brother, Charlie; brother-in-law, Curt Reed; two aunts, Louella and Ellen; five uncles, Frankie, Jack, Ernest, Merwyn and Don; special cousin, Vicky; and his stepfather, Max Reinstadler.
