BRUNSWICK – Local writers Denis Ledoux and Susann Pelletier whose work is featured in “Voyages: A Maine Franco-American Reader” will give a presentation and sign books Wednesday, March 19, at Curtis Memorial Library.

Nearly 70 voices celebrate the Franco-American experience – in essays, stories, plays, poetry, songs, and art – in “Voyages: A Maine Franco-American Reader.” They explore subjects as diverse as the Quebec-Maine-Acadia frontier history, immigrant drama, work, genealogy, women, discrimination, community affairs, religion, archaeology, politics, literature, language and humor.

This collection purposely includes a wide variety of perspectives to illustrate the diversity of Franco-American life in Maine, past and present. And it offers a master bibliography to help readers appreciate and access Franco-American materials.

Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Curtis Memorial Library is at 23 Pleasant St. For more information, call 725-5242.
