PORTLAND – Gladys E. Formy-Duval, 92, formerly of Hallowell Road in Pownal, died Tuesday, March 18, at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Dorchester, Mass., on Nov. 15, 1915, a daughter of the late James and Hildreth (Wells) Cushman. She moved to Wiscasset as a young girl and was educated there. Later she graduated from Frederic’s Academy of Hair in Boston and was a hairdresser for many years. She enjoyed reading and crosswords.

She leaves a brother, Howard Cushman and his wife, Leonie, of Pownal; and two sisters, Shirley Deanglis of Georgia, and Una Waterhouse of Michigan.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Formy-Duval in 1978; and two brothers, James and William Cushman.
