Recently, Gov. Baldacci announced his proposal for extremely serious cuts to local schools, the university, health care, and other services. If those cuts are enacted, they would cause terrible problems for thousands of Maine people.
Indeed, some of the health care cuts – such as eliminating prescription drug coverage for certain people on Medicaid – could cost lives.
Incredibly, the Sun Journal ran one AP article about that issue on March 6, with no followup the next day. Instead, the front page headlines include “Ex-hockey star slashed by bar glass,” and “Golfer kills protected hawk” (in Florida).
What are the newspaper’s priorities? Something is very wrong at the Sun Journal.
