PORTLAND – Eleanor M. Esty, 82, formerly of Standish, passed away March 16, at a Portland hospital, after a long illness.

She was born in Bridgeport, Conn., Jan. 8, 1926, a daughter of Willard J. and Mildred Gagne Parker. She was formerly employed at the Salvation Army in Westbrook.

She is survived by her son, Jay B. Esty, and Brenda Nuite of Neenah, Wis.; two granddaughters, Heather and Madison Plungy, of Oshkosh, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Davis of Westbrook; a niece, Lynn Joslin and her husband, Carl, of Brunswick; and a nephew, Lary Davis and his wife, Christina, of Scarborough.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Everett Libby; and her second husband, Alton Esty.
