There is a strange irony in the naming of the snow-woman in Bethel. It was decided to give it the name Olympia, and it was said to be in honor of Sen. Olympia Snowe.

So we have an icy cold snow-woman named after a U.S. senator who has consistantly voted to deny protection to unborn children in their mothers’ wombs.
