Dear Sun Spots: I would like to know if and when “ER” is returning to WCSH TV Channel 6. Please could you find out for me? Thanks. – Irene, No Town.

Answer:
Sun Spots is happy to report that “ER” will be returning with all new episodes on Thursday, April 10. It will be on at its regular time, 10 p.m., on NBC.

“ER” centers on the medical personnel in the emergency room of County General Hospital in Chicago, a Level One Trauma Center where heroic doctors and nurses are faced with life-and-death decisions daily. The cast includes Maura Tierney, Mekhi Phifer, Parminder Nagra, John Stamos, Linda Cardellini and Scott Grimes.

According to the NBC Web site, “ER” premiered on Sept. 19, 1994, and is currently in its 14th season and is one of the highest-rated dramas on television. The series has earned 22 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series in 1996, and 117 Emmy Award nominations – holding the record for television dramas and tying NBC’s “Cheers” as the all-time leading nominee in any genre. In addition, the cast has been honored with four Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Ensemble Performance in a Drama Series.

If you need to refresh your memory on what was going on at County General Hospital, you can watch the three most current episodes of “ER” at www.nbc.com.

• Readers seeking a place to purchase traction aids here in the Twin Cities: Consider contacting Connie Mercier, 25 Fourth St., Auburn, ME 04210, 784-1481 or via e-mail at [email protected] for more information about these. Traction aids are also available at NAPA Auto Parts at 325 Center St. The store hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 5p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You may call to see if they have any available at 786-2220.

Traction aids look like a piece of a fire grate, a heavy thick metal that is placed under the front tires for front-wheel drive vehicles or rear for rear-wheel-drive. The grips are wedged between the tire and the ground and give you the traction you need to get your vehicle back on the road.

Dear Sun Spots: Are you a psychic mind reader? Last week, when I got two phone calls in one day offering me small pots, I thought I must be crazy. It was two years or more ago the request was sent to Sun Spots! But, I’d been thinking about resubmitting, and there it was! So, thanks again and again! – Steve, No Town.
