AUBURN – A pickup truck caught fire inside a garage on Glendale Avenue Thursday afternoon, but firefighters knocked down the flames within minutes.

It helped that the scene of the fire is at 60 Glendale Ave., a short ride from the fire station.

“That’s right around the corner from us,” said platoon Chief Victor Mathieu. “We were able to knock it down pretty quick.”

Flames roared up inside the garage while a man was working on a pickup at about 2 p.m., Mathieu said. Fire damaged the truck and some contents of the garage, but the building was mostly spared.
