NORWAY – Recreation Director Deb Partridge announced Friday that two more businesses have signed up to participate in Saturday’s Norway Easter Fest, which is being held downtown from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Don’s Redemption and Cafe Nomad, both downtown businesses, have signed on to the fourth annual Easter festival.

Hundreds of children and adults are expected to turn out for the event, which begins at Norway Memorial Library. There, people can pick up the Bunny Trail Map and get more details about the day’s events.

Partridge said the Easter bunny will open the festival at the library before hopping across the street to Main Street Furniture & Appliances where he will hand out balloons. There will also be a Main Street Easter egg hunt, craft tables, a chance to enter raffles, a performance by Mary Ukelady, and healthy snacks provided by Healthy Oxford Hills.

“At the Fare Share Commons you can dye eggs using local brown eggs and natural dyes, then skip your way along the Bunny Trail to Western Maine Art, where you can create your Easter Egg Art. At the other end of the Bunny Trail, stop by the Second Congregational Church and have your face painted and play games,” Partridge said.

Raffles include two new bicycles, two scooters, two Tough Trikes, and a $50 gift certificate from New Balance.

Participating businesses are also hatching up surprises for adults, said Partridge, who reminds participants to bring their cameras.

The event is open to the public and is free. All activities are donated and run by volunteers.

The Easter Fest is a collaborative effort of Norway Downtown, Norway Recreation Department, Norway Memorial Library and Healthy Oxford Hills. In addition to the two newest participants, other participating businesses are Goin’ Postal, Cumberland Farms, Norway Savings Bank, Main Street Furniture & Appliances, Creative Media, 100 Aker Wood, Fare Share, Aris, Matolsky Art Center, Christian Science Reading Room, Books N Things, Grassroots Graphics and Primitive Porch.
