FARMINGTON – The American roots music ensemble Evergreen will perform at a concert presented by the Kingfield Pops and the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Thursday, March 27, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Evergreen has been entertaining New England audiences since 1991. Its eclectic style blends elements of bluegrass, folk, blues, old-time country and swing into a seamless mix of upbeat, energizing music.

Band members are Steve Chiasson, who has been playing guitar and honing his songwriting craft since starting his first garage band in 1965; Chris Prickitt, an accomplished banjo player with a flair for both Scruggs-style and good old-fashioned clawhammer; Nel Kennedy, who plays bass, guitar, mandolin and autoharp; and Joe Kennedy, harmonica player extraordinaire and bass player.

The concert will go from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the bass room. Appetizers will be served, and a cash bar will be available.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth 17 and younger. A front row table for eight can be reserved for $100. All proceeds will support music programs in SAD 9 and SAD 58.

Tickets are available at the chamber of commerce office; Camden National Bank in Farmington and in Kingfield; and Mickey’s Hallmark in Farmington. They will also be sold at the door. For more information, call 778-4215, or e-mail info@franklincountymaine.org.
