“I’ve been waiting for this day!” said Nancy Wilson as she ordered an ice cream cone at the Dairy Joy on Campus Avenue on Friday. “Every time I go by, I watch and look to see if they’re getting ready to open. I love Dairy Joy!” Despite blustery winds and frigid temperatures, a handful of people stopped at the business, which traditionally opens the third Thursday in March. “In the spring, people will stand in line for ice cream during a snowstorm,” relates owner Lisa Keene. “But in August, if it’s cloudy – just cloudy, nothing else – we’re dead.”
