AUGUSTA – Area restaurants will compete in the Children’s Center’s seventh annual Chili Chowder Challenge and Auction Saturday, March 22, at the Augusta State Armory.

Among those competing are Al’s Pizza, Applebee’s, Augusta House of Pancakes, The China Dine-ah, CJ’s Pizza, Damon’s, Dennis’ Pizza, Eloi’s Place, Java Joe’s, The Liberal Cup, Lisa’s Restaurant and Lounge, Little Dan’s BBQ, Maple Hill Farm Inn and Conference Center, The Red Barn, Savory Selections, Tim Horton’s, Tubby’s Ice Cream and Wings Hill Inn.

Proceeds will support programs at the Children’s Center in Augusta, a private nonprofit organization providing education, therapy and family services for preschool children with special needs.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
