LEWISTON – The Visible Community will kick off its People’s Plan Agenda with a release of the People’s Downtown Master Plan, performances, food and fun for all ages at noon Saturday at the Knox Street Community Garden.

The purpose of the event is to gather residents and local leaders to focus attention on the plan that hundreds of residents participated in creating. The People’s Plan calls for greater investment in safe and affordable housing, improved public transportation, community gathering space, job training, and full inclusion of downtown residents in city planning decisions.

Participants will engage in a performance documenting the Visible Community’s history and achievements that will be participatory for all ages. There will be an appearance by Horton the Elephant to inspire residents to raise their voices for the betterment of their community. There will be hot chocolate and free food provided by the Salvation Army.
