EXETER, N.H. – Florence G. Seitz, 97, died March 20, at the Exeter Hospital.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1911, in Lewiston, daughter of the late Thomas L. and Florence E. (Orlandini) Harkins.

She worked in New York City in the hotel industry for many years. She moved to Fremont, N.H. in 1971, and then to Raymond after the death of her husband, Francis ‘Jack’ Seitz, in 1984. She was a charter member of the Ray-Fre Senior Center, treasurer of the Rockingham County Area Committee on Aging and a member of the RSVP, Raymond Garden Club and Historical Society. She had been a volunteer for Lamprey Health Center for 21 years. She was politically active her whole life and lobbied in Concord on issues affecting seniors. The Raymond Board of Selectman honored her with a certificate of commendation for receiving the Governor’s Award in 1992.

Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Margaret Bradbury of Auburn; brother David Harkins of Lewiston; two granddaughters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is predeceased by a son, Daniel Seitz.
