LARGO, Fla. – Roy Pace Willis, 79, of Auburn, passed away March 20, of complications from heart surgery in Largo, Fla.

He was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, where he graduated from Ridley Park High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Temple University.

He began his banking career in California, and also worked in Colorado, before moving to Auburn in 1974, where he retired from Casco Northern Bank. He served on the aircraft carrier Bonhomme Richard during the Korean War and retired as a lieutenant junior grade from the Navy.

He was a member of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the Auburn school board. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling. He especially loved the natural beauty of Hawaii.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joan A. “Werner”; four sons, Kevin and his wife, Sherry, of Taipei, Taiwan, Keith and his wife, Eleanor, of Drexel Hill, Pa., Andrew and his wife, Stephanie, of Clearwater, Fla., and Todd and his wife, Laurie, of West Paris; a daughter, Susan Colucci and her husband, Joseph, of Rochester, N.H.; a sister, Mary Willis Ambrose of Oneonta, N.Y.; and 13 grandchildren, Shaun, Zakariya, Ismail, Cherel, Danielle, Sydney, Vanessa, Ethan, Sara, Matthew, Brianna, Meaghan and Kyle.
