Dear Sun Spots: In doing some early spring cleaning I found some things that I forgot I had and now know that I will not use them. I have six large pieces (more than two yards each) of Worumbo wool fabric (all are bright plaid colors) that I would love to give to anyone who likes to sew but can’t afford the fabric. Each piece would be enough for a skirt at least, perhaps pants depending on the size needed. I also have four pieces of cotton fabric (enough to make clothes for a child) that I would also like to give away.
I also found a box of new women’s handkerchiefs (approximately 30 to 50) that my aunt had in her collection from many years ago. I had kept them with intentions of making a tablecloth but now know I won’t do that. I would love to give them to some crafty person.
If interested in any of these items, please contact Phyllis at 353-6017, leave a message and I’ll get back to you, or e-mail me at [email protected]. – Phyllis Gamache, No Town.
Answer: In addition to responses from our readers who are interested in the fabric, you may also donate your items to the High Street Congregational Church in Auburn. They are holding a fabric and craft supply fair on Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sale is for the supplies, not the finished product. Any donations they receive will be sold at the church’s table. Donations may be brought to the church at 106 Pleasant St. between April 1 and April 16. You may also rent a table to sell your items to other crafters for $15. For more information, call Judy McKinney at 753-0367.

Dear Sun Spots: The Leavitt Area High School Class of 2008 Project Graduation would like to thank all the community businesses and individuals who donated toward the auction. Thank you to all those who volunteered, helped get auction information to the public, and everyone who supported it. The auction was a great success! It would not have been possible without everyone’s support! The Class of 2008 thanks you! – Stacey, Turner.
