LISBON FALLS – Elsie A. Card, 72, of Lisbon Falls, died March 22, at home with her family by her side.
She was born in Bath, Feb. 5, 1936, a daughter of J. Walter Thayer Sr. and Flora Crosby Thayer. She attended Bath schools and on Dec. 6, 1958, she married Charles R. Card of Lisbon Falls.
She had been a resident of Lisbon Falls since 1968. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 158 of Lisbon, VFW Auxiliary, Post 9459 of Lisbon and the Lisbon Left Hand Club.
For many years, she was employed as a caregiver and in her last working years did private duty cases in the area. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Charles; a loving daughter, Brenda Card and her companion, Paul Burmeister, of Hartford; her precious grandson, Keenan Stockdale; two sisters, Flora Reed of Woolwich and Madelyn Crafts of Lisbon Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, J. Walter Thayer Jr.; and her sisters, Grace E Young and Carol S.B. Mack, all of Bath.
We would also like to thank the caregivers from Chan’s Home Health and the staff of the Maine Center for Cancer Medicine and Blood Disorders at Mid-Coast Hospital.
