SOUTH PARIS – Janette (Russell) McCabe, 72, of South Paris died Tuesday, March 25, at her residence.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 25, 1936, the daughter of Kenneth and Catherine (Chapman) Russell.

Early in her life she worked for Dr. Dixon, then for Stephens Memorial Hospital in the operating room, emergency room, and then in medical surgical. Later she worked for the Bridgton Hospital in the operating room where the staff referred to her as “Mother.”

She enjoyed attending the First Congregational Church in South Paris, working on the suppers at church and especially helping the church during Christmas time.

She is survived by two children, a daughter, Sheryl Russell of Abbot; a son, Kenneth “Rusty” Farrar and his wife, Lisa, of West Paris; a sister, Jean and her husband, Lynn, of West Paris; four grandchildren, Danielle, Alicia, Kyle and Colin Farrar; and an aunt, Phemie Russell of Norway.

She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Catherine Russell.
