LEWISTON – Marjorie M. Phelps, R.N., 77, of Rumford, died Tuesday, March 25, at the Central Maine Medical Center. She was a resident of Prospect Avenue in Rumford.
She was born in Moose River, on April 8, 1930, a daughter of Raymond and Elaine (Daymond) Moore. She was a graduate of Jackman High School and the Rumford Community Hospital Nursing School. She worked as a registered nurse for the Cozy Inn Nursing Home in Rumford. After her retirement, she sold Mary Kay Products.
She was an active member of the Rumford United Methodist Church and she enjoyed her summers at the camp on Long Pond.
She was married in Moose River, on Aug. 28, 1954, to Merle T. Phelps who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include a daughter, Marcia Jolicoeur and her husband, Peter, of Greene; a son, Kerry Phelps and his wife, Nicole, of South Paris; grandchildren, Ryan Phelps, Sara Jolicoeur, Aaron Jolicoeur and his wife, Jennifer, PFC Matthew Jolicoeur and his wife, Heather; her mother, Elaine Moore of Auburn; and a brother, Carleton Moore and his wife, Ellie, of Florida.
