FRYEBURG – Martha L. Bennett, 85, of Lovell and Fryeburg, died March 24, at the Fryeburg Health Care Center.

She was born in Errol, N.H., on Jan. 31, 1923, a daughter of Ellis and Martha Littlehale Lane. She was married to Alonzo (Lonnie) Bennett on March 15, 1941. Her life centered around her family and helping with the family business.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their motor home and visited nearly every state in the U.S. and parts of Canada. Their first major trip was with their two younger sons to Alaska in 1970.

She had a special love for white birches, covered bridges, hummingbirds, decorating and sunrises on Kezar Lake. In their married life was spent in Fryeburg and Lovell and spent their retirement wintering in Florida.

She is survived by three sons, Alan D. and his wife, Nettie, of Lovell, and Naples, Fla.; Keith E. and his wife, Carman, of Auburn and Mark S. and his wife, Catherine, of Scarborough; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1995; her brother Clifford Lane; and two sisters, Francis Dunn and Margaret Hawkins.
