NEWBURYPORT, Mass. – Roger A. Chouinard Sr., 71, of Beach Road, Salisbury, Mass., passed away on Tuesday, March 25, at the Brigham Manor Nursing Center after a long illness. He was the husband of Lorraine (Caron) Chouinard.

He was born in Lewiston on April 11, 1936, the son of the late Sam and Corinne (Nadeau) Chouinard.

He grew up and attended schools in Lewiston. A retired construction worker, he was employed as a union laborer with Local 175, retiring after 30 years of service. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and yard sales. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Besides his wife Lorraine of 52 years, he is survived by one son, Roger Chouinard Jr. and wife, Ann-Marie, of Whitehall, Md.; three daughters, Dian Dastous and husband, Tom, of Salisbury, Mass., Debra Stack and husband, Alex, of Haverhill, Mass., and Denise Sheehan and husband, Tim, of Exeter, N.H.; one brother, Bertrand Chouinard and wife, Renetta, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his eight grandchildren, Tom, Joe, Kelly-Ann, Bryan, Alex, Spencer, Tyler and Nikki.
