Supper/dance
GREENWOOD – A supper/dance will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the American Legion Hall, Gore Road. Music by the Fading Memories Orchestra. Supper will be served by the American Legion Auxiliary. Tickets are adults, $8; children, $3.
Church supper
SUMNER – The Youth Group at the Congregational Church of East Sumner, UCC, Route 219, will have a chicken pot pie supper (filling over butter biscuits) at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 5. People can eat in for $8, adults; $5, children; free, 4 and under; $25, family of more than four; eat out: $20 (feeds four, no salad or beverage).

Lodge supper
NORWAY – The Oxford Lodge of Masons will sponsor a baked bean supper for Oxford Hills Project Graduation from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Masonic Hall, Temple Street, behind the Norway Post Office. The menu will consist of baked beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, desserts and drinks. The price is $5 a person. For information, call Kathy Keene at 743-2616.
Library speaker
WOODSTOCK – Steve Bies will be the speaker at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Whitman Memorial Library. His topic will be backwoods on and off trail hiking in Maine and New Hampshire. The program is open to the public free and light refreshments will be served.
Storytimes
PARIS – The Paris Public Library’s preschool storytimes will feature the following activities during the month: Thursday, April 10, participants will make a honeybee “hotel” as they celebrate National Library Month and “Bee A Reader.”
On April 17, the craft will be clothespin and tissue butterflies as the children learn about the transformation of “cocoon to sky.” On April 24, the focus will be Earth Day, where the magic of the spring will be found in “Crocus Pocus.” On May 1, the frantic frog craft will highlight baby animals and how they grow.
The library welcomes to its staff two new children’s librarians, Billie Lou Damon and Michaela Batstone. They are joining veteran Joan Parker.

Knitters to meet
PARIS – The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 1, at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., Paris. If the schools are canceled due to a storm there will be no meeting.
