LEWISTON – The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce hosts a monthly brown bag roundtable discussion event for its members at the chamber office, 415 Lisbon St.
Members bring questions (and their lunch) and learn from other members by sharing information, knowledge and experiences through informal discussions of business-related topics.
The discussion will be held April 2, from noon-1:15 p.m. Topic will be “Workers’ Comp 101: Everything You Need to Know but Your Insurance Company Forgot to Tell You.”
The discussion will address how costly Workers’ Compensation can be to an organization’s productivity and the bottom line, and the challenge of balancing cost control and risk management while providing the care injured workers need.
The workshop will cover the basics of workers’ comp and the practical steps that can be taken to help an organization control both injuries and claim costs.
Facilitator for the discussion is Clark Phinney of Central Maine Healthcare/CMMC.
Central Maine Healthcare/CMMC developed a model of care for injured employees that lowered CMHC’s mod rating from 1.01 to .56 in four years and resulted in savings of $1 million in two years.
Phinney, WSO-CST, is a licensed Workers’ Compensation adjuster with more than a decade of experience in safety and occupational health.
Registration is not required; however, a courtesy call to the chamber at 783-2249, or an e-mail to [email protected] to reserve a space would be appreciated.
