GREENVILLE, S.C. – Jeannine Ida Melanson Labbie, 79, widow of Julien Labbie, died Wednesday, March 26, at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Lewiston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Lachance Melanson.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and enjoyed time spent with friends playing Mahjong, Canasta and Bunko.
Surviving are six children, Peggy Ann Flagg and her husband, Robert, of Guam, Christine Lawson of Simpsonville, S.C., Kathie Cronebach of Ohio, Lisa Taitano and her husband, John, of Guam, Thomas Labbie of Clayton, Ga., and John Labbie and his wife, Wendi, of California; 13 grandchildren, Laura McClung, Crystal Fowler, John Sayre, Brandon Lawson, Gina Stevens, Zachary Cronebach, Rachel Cronebach, John Taitano, Megan Taitano, David Labbie, Jenna Labbie, Matthew Labbie and Mitchell Labbie; a brother, Reginald Melanson; and a sister, Priscilla Gendron.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Timothy Labbie; two sisters, Anna Rose Carrier and Rita Letourneau; and two brothers, Nelson and Arthur Melanson.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to all her friends and neighbors for their loving support.
