Army Sgt. Vincent D. Holland has returned to Alaska after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The soldier is assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, a subordinate unit of the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division at Fort Richardson, Anchorage.

Holland, an information technology specialist, has served in the military for six years.

He is the son of Lisa Holland of Farmington. The sergeant is a 2001 graduate of Mt. Blue High School.
