WORCESTER, Mass. – Joe Whitney set up Benn Ferriero’s go-ahead goal midway through the second period and added an goal in the third for Boston College.

Coach Jerry York, in his 14th season at BC and 36th overall, earned his 800th win, second-most in NCAA history behind former Michigan State coach Ron Mason (924).

Pat Gannon, Ben Smith and Nathan Gerbe also scored for the Eagles (22-11-8), trying to advance to their 21st Frozen Four.

Northeast Regional

Miami (Ohio) 3, Air Force 2

WORCESTER, Mass. – Justin Mercier scored 15:21 into overtime to lift top-seeded Miami of Ohio past Air Force.

Mercier collected a loose puck near center ice, cut around a defenseman and fired a shot under the crossbar and past goalie Andrew Volkening.

East Regional

Michigan 2, Clarkson 0

ALBANY, N.Y. – Billy Sauer made 27 saves to help Michigan advance to the Frozen Four with a 2-0 victory over Clarkson on Saturday night in the East Regional final.

Freshman Aaron Palushaj opened the scoring in the first period, and captain Kevin Porter added a third-period goal and had an assist for the top-ranked Wolverines (33-5-4). Porter had four goals Friday night in Michigan’s victory over Niagara.

Midwest Regional

North Dakota 5, Princeton 1

MADISON, Wis. – Ryan Duncan scored three goals and Jean-Philippe Lamoureux made 38 saves for North Dakota.

North Dakota (27-10-4), trying to advance to its fourth consecutive Frozen Four, will face WCHA rival Wisconsin on Sunday in the regional final.

Wisconsin 6, Denver 2

MADISON, Wis. – Michael Davies scored two goals and added an assist for Wisconsin in the Badgers’ first tournament game since they won the 2006 title.

Jamie McBain, Cody Goloubef, John Mitchell and Davis Drewiske also scored for Wisconsin (16-16-7), the fourth team ever to enter the NCAA tournament with a losing record. The Badgers are 11-0 in postseason play against Denver.
