West Paris – Estelle L. Lecours, 82, of Route 2 in Rumford and formerly of Waldo Street, passed away on Friday evening, March 28, at Ledgeview Nursing Home.

She was born in Berlin, N.H., May 30, 1925, a daughter of Omer and Yvonne (Roy) Langlois. She was educated in Mexico schools, graduated from Mexico High School in 1943 and remained a lifelong resident of the Rumford-Mexico community. On Aug. 29, 1948, she was married at St. Theresa’s Church to Hector L. Lecours who passed away in 2002 following 54 years of marriage. She did work for a number of years in housekeeping at Rumford Community Hospital, but later spent many years as a homemaker. She loved her special times with her family, daughter and granddaughter, great-grandchildren, and was a very extreme and avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.

She leaves her daughter, Laurie Norton of Rumford; her granddaughter, Janis Carlton and husband, James, of Rumford; two great-grandchildren, Alyson Rose Carlton and Noah James-Louis Carlton; two sisters-in-law, Sister Cecile Lecours of Quebec, Canada and Lena Lecours of New York; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Yvette Moore, Jeannette Labonte, Simone Davenport and Louise Jones; and by a brother, Robert Langlois.
