PARIS – Hobbs’ Lucky Lanes on Route 26 will be opening the alleys for a good cause Saturday.
The bowling alley will be the site of the Bowl for Kids’ Sake event, which supports Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Teams of four who raise $35 or more per person may reserve a two-hour time slot and bowl for free.
“The way it works is we prefer to have teams register, but you can walk in,” said Patricia Valeriani, community relations coordinator at the Child Health Center.
Participants will receive a free T-shirt, and the event will feature door prizes donated by local businesses. For every $100 an individual raises, they will receive one ticket for a drawing for a 42-inch flat screen TV. Prizes will also be awarded to the individuals who raise the most money.
The Big Brothers, Big Sisters mentoring programs include site-based programs, where volunteers meet with a child at school for one hour per week during the school year, and community-based programs, where they meet with a child for approximately six hours per month during the full year.
Openings are available at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 743-7035.
