Norway- Mary Kimball Sarrasin Hascall, 101, formerly of West Paris, passed away on Sunday, March 30, at the Norway Rehabilitation Center in Norway.

She was born in West Paris, on Dec. 5, 1906, to Oscar and Annie Bacon Kimball. When she was tragically orphaned at age five, she was brought up by Mr. and Mrs. John Swift of Beverly, Mass. She married Arthur Sarrasin in 1928, and lived principally in Portsmouth, N.H., and various Massachusetts towns where Arthur worked as a machinist. They had one daughter, Joan Mary. When Arthur died in 1969, Mary moved back to her roots in the Oxford Hills area of Maine. Here she met and married Ralph Hascall of Norway, who passed away in 1977.

She was a member of Saint Catherine’s of Sienna Catholic Church, the Heywood Club, and the Mayflower Society. Throughout her long life, she was devoted to her family. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and made them many beautiful quilts and afghans that serve them still in her memory. She also enjoyed the bus trips and European tours with her daughter, Joan, and local friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan Flint and son-in-law, George; two grandsons, Christopher and his wife, Lori and Eric and his former wife, Jeannie Reichle; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Kellsie and Christopher II; a special niece, Ruth Wentworth of Oxford; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Vernal Kimball of Hartford and Gerald Kimball of South Paris; and two sisters, Helen Whittum and Ola Beal, both of Mechanic Falls.
